My name is Holger Graeber, I live in Dinslaken on the Lower Rhine and I am – in the best sense of the word – a child of the Ruhr region. For many years, I was involved in a completely different world: since 1998, I was co-owner and managing director of a company specialising in automation technology. In the summer of 2019, I sold my shares in the company and thus also ended my role as managing director – a step that opened up new horizons for me.
In January 2020, I began to devote myself more intensively to photography. A long-standing hobby became an ambitious project close to my heart.
Today, my photographic focus is on landscape photography. The Lower Rhine region, with its pollarded willows, old beech forests, floodplains and small streams, offers countless tranquil, almost meditative motifs – perfect for relaxing days of photography in nature.
The Ruhr area provides an exciting contrast – my home and, at the same time, a place full of contrasts. Between coal mines, steelworks and urban life, you can find a unique aesthetic. Here, my focus is more on street photography and depicting everyday urban life.
On my travels, I combine both worlds: the tranquillity of the landscape with the liveliness of the moment. In my gallery, you will find photographs of Greenland's icebergs, the fjords of Norway, the mountains and forests of Madeira, the volcanic landscapes of Lanzarote, and the deserts and animals of Namibia – and much more.
Feel free to browse through my gallery – perhaps you will discover your favourite motif. I would be delighted if you did.
