Forms of wind – dunes of the desert and the sea
The wind shapes the most incredible figures and structures out of sand. It draws lines, creates movement across the surface and gives rise to landscapes that change with each passing day. What appears solid is in fact constantly changing.
The colour palette ranges from almost white to delicate yellow tones to bright orange and deep red – a play of light, minerals and time. Especially in Namibia, with its two deserts, the Kalahari and the Namib, I found an almost inexhaustible source for these shapes and colours.
But similar landscapes also emerge on the coasts, where sand and sea meet – fleeting, marked by the wind, shaped by the rhythm of the tides.
This gallery is a tribute to sand in all its manifestations – to the beauty of the ephemeral and to the quiet power of the wind, which creates works of art from simple grains.
