Landscape photography at Lower Rhine

The Lower Rhine region is my photographic home for landscape photography. There are no spectacular mountain ranges or thundering waterfalls here – the beauty of this region lies in its tranquillity, its calmness and its idyllic nature.

Forests, moors, heath and dune landscapes, rivers, streams and vast agricultural areas characterise the image of this region. Much of it has developed, changed and been preserved over centuries – an interplay between nature and man that can still be felt today.

When I talk about the ‘Lower Rhine’, however, I don't take the geographical boundaries too seriously. For me, the Hohe Mark and the neighbouring regions of the Netherlands are also part of it. Together, they form a diverse, often underestimated terrain that constantly offers new perspectives – perfect for anyone who appreciates the quiet tones of landscape photography.
